Merchant Category Code (MCC)

It would be great to send back the merchant category code (MCC) for POS purchases and a transaction code for other transactions (e.g. transfer, fee, interest payment, etc). I assumed that the transactionCategory field would have this, but it doesn't come back in the sandbox. It is possible, that comes back in the transaction details, but the sandbox that always returns an empty array.

Hi Dawid,

We are using the B2B US Retail api and calling the search for transactions endpoint as follows:

https://api.fusionfabric.cloud/retail-us/account/v1/consumers/832/accounts/10068/transactions?offset=0&limit=100

results include:

{

"id": "10068201903050001",

"accountId": "10068",

"transactionDate": "2019-03-05",

"transactionAmount": 25.05,

"runningBalance": 99769.21,

"pending": false,

"debit": true,

"description": "ATM POS Debit, PANERA BREAD #202366 2165252715 KSUS",

"markAttended": false

},

{

"id": "10068201903030005",

"accountId": "10068",

"transactionDate": "2019-03-03",

"transactionAmount": 553.23,

"runningBalance": 99794.26,

"pending": false,

"debit": true,

"description": "8885963157 LENDING CLUB IDXXXXX",

"markAttended": false

},

{

"id": "10068201903030004",

"accountId": "10068",

"transactionDate": "2019-03-03",

"transactionAmount": 10.9,

"runningBalance": 100347.49,

"pending": false,

"debit": true,

"description": "ATM POS Debit, MICROSOFT*XBOX GAME PA REDMOND WAUS",

"markAttended": false

},

{

"id": "10068201903030003",

"accountId": "10068",

"transactionDate": "2019-03-03",

"transactionAmount": 53,

"runningBalance": 100358.39,

"pending": false,

"debit": true,

"description": "ATM POS Debit, MW *SHAWNEE MISSION PS 913-993-6496 KSUS",

"markAttended": false

},

then we call get transaction details:

https://api.fusionfabric.cloud/retail-us/account/v1/consumers/832/accounts/10068/transactions/10068201902190001

results include:

{

"details": []

}

Per the docs the transactionCategory should come back with the search transactions call. Ideally so would MCC for debit transactions (POS).

Hello,

It seems that currently we do not publish transaction codes on any transaction in the sandbox. We have passed this issue to the developement of the API so that the response is better alligned with the API Catalog documentation.
